📖 Episode 1 Recap
The episode opens with a disturbing scene: Paige, Simon and Ingrid’s daughter, is confronted by a masked man before ultimately running away.
A year later, Simon receives a tip claiming Paige has been spotted in a park — for a price. He rushes there and briefly sees her, but she’s clearly in bad shape. When he tries to approach her, Paige panics and runs. Her boyfriend Aaron intervenes, leading to a violent confrontation where Simon beats Aaron and is arrested. The incident goes viral, painting Simon as a man who assaulted a homeless individual.
Enter Jessica, Simon’s new lawyer, who helps secure his release. But things escalate quickly when Aaron is found dead in his apartment — and Paige is the last person known to have been with him.
Because of the viral video and his public altercation with Aaron, Simon becomes a prime suspect. Detectives Isaac and Ruby interrogate him as the pressure mounts.
Determined to find their daughter, Simon and Ingrid begin searching for Paige themselves. Their trail leads them to Aaron’s apartment, where they meet Cornelius, a neighbor who allows them inside and suggests they speak to Rocco, Paige’s drug dealer.
When Simon and Ingrid confront Rocco, the situation turns dangerous. Another man, Luther, appears and pulls a gun. Despite attempts to de-escalate, Luther shoots Ingrid, ending the episode on a shocking cliffhanger.
Meanwhile, the episode introduces additional storylines:
